From a BIG Star to Placemats

The weekend flew with the blink of an eye it was over… I personally do NOT like when that happens, so many things to do and NO time to do them. But I am learning as I get older time passes me by everyday… I should have realized this when someone told me before my wedding enjoy every moment because it will fly… (yeah right), it was the truth, started and poof it was over J.

Monday started slow and by/before lunch… poof… it was time to go home… Stevie was working not far from my office SO we decided to head to the Route 7 diner for a quick dinner… The diner was slow the food was GREAT… Stevie had a huge meal, which should be expected at a diner because it comes with, soup, salad, rolls, two sides, CRAZY, but the price amazing and cooked to perfection!! Possibly because there were only about six customers in the whole place!

We arrived home and fell into our normal routine, except Stevie was home at the exact time, which never happens anymore or not that often.  I took off my shoes and said hello to Sherlock and Stevie said… there is a star on the table… I thought… there is what on the table… trying to remember if I set anything on the table in the morning… I said… There is a what on the table… He replied… A star come and look…

My mom finished the placemats she showed me a few months before made from the scraps of material for the amazing Christmas tree skirt she made Stevie for Christmas of 2011. They are incredible, there are six all together, if you separate them, and you can put each corner together which makes a star!!! I love it… I have yet to remove the star my mom left us in the middle of the table, it makes me smile when I look at it. Sherlock seemed to enjoy it also night also as he laid in the middle of the table sleeping on them… I didn’t say a word about it just looked at him, just like he laid on the Christmas tree skirt…

And here is a picture of my moms amazing work!!!

I wore what???

Everyone knows, I am NOT a gold fan… Never have been but potential could become part of my wardrobe!!!

Don’t ask me what came over me… Maybe, rummaging through the box of found treasure, is just what I needed, some crap, some tangled necklaces (I doubt will ever become untangled), some garbage and some a little freaky. However, getting the giant gold owl made my day!!! I love it… In fact, I am super excited to be wearing it with a longer chain. Which hangs down past my chest not on/in my chest anymore… I love it… I am very happy with the crazy, stalking out, purchase that I made!!!

Very appreciative of my owl and what an owl stands for. I and proud and very excited… This makes me want to buy more owls!!! This brings me to another GREAT find, an owl ring, which will be a lot of fun to wear!

I ended up going on-line and finding a GREAT website that talks about the “Vintage Owl Necklace”, it was a fun read.( http://www.pennpollyvintage.com/blog/a-vintage-owl-necklace-quick-guide/338/ )

That’s all for now, Happy Thursday!

A New Beginning

I have decided to start a new blog... In the mind of A… Seeing how lately there has been many things on my mind, photography, recipes, cooking, jewelry, vintage things, recipes, photos, reading, friendships, family, journal, pen, and more a lot more. So I decided to dedicate at least write everyday on what is in this little mind of mine… and pictures many of them!

Sit back, enjoy … question, comments, or any ideas just let me know… I am a pretty open book!!!
